Description

Wexford Home Preserves has won several awards including Wexford business of the year, Great Taste Awards and the Irish Quality Food Awards. Tom and Laura, besides employing themselves, have created 12 jobs and have contributed a lot to the local economy, choosing to deal with local suppliers whenever they can.Not only because the soil conditions and climate in County Wexford (the Sunny South East!) help our farmers to grow their fruit more succulent, sweet and delicious than anywhere else but because we want our children to grow up with a sustainable food industry around them.
We really value our local growers like Malcolm Robertson (rhubarb and beetroot), Des Jeffares (blackcurrants), Christian von Englebrechton (apples) and Eamon Crean to name a few. We appreciate how hard they work to grow their crop, making sure that we always have the fruit we need to make our jams to the award winning standard you’ve come to expect!

About the Producer

Wexford Home Preserves is an artisan maker of multiple award winning jams, marmalades, savoury preserves and speciality preserves.

Based in the historic town of New Ross, every product is handmade in small batches using the traditional open pot boiling method. The best quality ingredients are sourced as locally as possible and all preserves are 100% natural. This small, family business started life in 1988 when Tom Sinnott’s Aunt Ellen O’Leary started making jams at home in Our Lady’s Island, Co. Wexford to use up surpluses of fruit. She built up a great reputation locally for the quality of her jams, marmalades and other preserves.

When Ellen decided to move on to other things, Tom and his wife Laura took the reins and began making artisan sweet and savoury preserves and conserves by hand using traditional recipes using the open pot boiling method.

Tom and Laura have stuck to their guns when it comes to quality, the use of local suppliers and the making of everything by hand – and it has really made a difference.

The company now supplies over 350 shops nationwide and is making award winning Simply Better products for Dunnes Stores.
